Dandelion tea:

I swear by this stuff. I was turned onto it about 3 years ago. It has so many amazing benefits that I'm going to share with you. I recently replaced my coffee with it. I'm not saying coffee is all bad, it has it's benefits. It just wasn't working for me. I'm sensitive to acidic stuff and coffee would most times actually make me tired, maybe because it can cause dehydration? So I switched to dandelion tea. An amazing benefit I noticed is the whites of my eyes got bright white and my under eye circles went away, this has to do with it's liver purifying properties. I do 3 bags a day. 2 bags in my morning cup and one bag in a cup around 5 or 6. It does give you energy so I wouldn't take your last cup past 6 or 7pm. You should let it steep for 15-20 minutes. The brand I use is Traditional Medicinals. My sister is literally a Dandelion connoisseur, she insists this is the best brand and the most potent. It is also 100% organic. I get mine at the Super Target by my house. My sister, who lives in a small town, gets it at her local Albertson's or Rite-Aid. Also some Vitamin Shoppe locations have it. If you don't feel like searching for it you can always easily order it online. It is full of many crucial vitamins and minerals; potassium, magnesium, calcium, vitamin A, vitamin C, B vitamins, iron, and zinc. Plus it's caffeine free, which is a major plus in my opinion, but will still give you tons of energy since it is chock full of nutrients, and with no crash after.

Promotes weight loss(I have a client who went from 160lbs to 120lbs. She says she wasn't eating at times like I told her but she always did her dandelion tea regularly and is convinced the dandelion tea was a major component in her weight loss)

Improves digestion.

Helps purify the bladder and kidneys and helps prevent urinary tract infections.

It's a diuretic so it prevents and rids your body of bloating. Since it has potassium in it though it does not deplete you like synthetic diuretics.

As a liver purifier it has been shown to help chronic hepatitis, jaundice and encourages healing of damaged tissue from alcohol induced liver disease. It is definitely a good idea to add dandelion tea to your routine if you consume alcohol.

Dandelion tea is very beneficial for vegetarians(like my sister) since many vegetarians or vegans are low on zinc, iron and B vitamins.

It has antioxidant properties and can help boost the immune system.

Cleanses the liver and filters out toxic elements in your bloodstream. It is considered a blood purifier.

In some people it has shown effective in preventing and clearing acne. That's because in certain cases acne is actually caused by a backed up liver and an overload of toxins in the body.

It is highly anti-inflammatory and many holistic health care experts believe it fights cancer.

Can lower cholesterol

I don't absolutely love the taste but I absolutely LOVE the benefits. It's not bad, kind of peanut-flavored in my opinion. I don't put any sweeteners or cream in it because I want to just ingest the pure dandelion tea. If you don't like the taste you can add a lil Stevia. Some people love the taste.
